At Keller Education, we champion educators who go above and beyond to inspire growth, spark joy, and create lasting impacts. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce one such standout: Bianca van Biljon, a teacher who has transformed her classroom into a celebration of every learner’s journey and successes, no matter how small.
Bianca’s journey in education began at the University of Pretoria, where she earned her Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase and an Honours in Learning Support, both with distinction. She was also inducted into the prestigious Golden Key International Honour Society. Over her career at Laerskool Uniefees, she’s taken on roles as Subject Head for Life Skills, Physical Education, Creative Arts, and Visual Arts, Grade 6 Head, Chairperson of the Staff Committee, and now, Departmental Head for Languages. Through it all, Bianca’s unwavering dedication to her students’ success has shone brightly. “The greatest joy,” she says, “is when I see learners smile after receiving their report cards.” Now teaching at her own alma mater, she knows firsthand what it means to be in her students’ shoes.
Bianca brings heart and humour to her teaching, fully embracing the Keller methodology. Her positive reinforcement approach is evident: from setting collaborative classroom contracts and greeting each student with “exploding fist bumps,” to celebrating every milestone. And when long lessons call for extra energy, Bianca leans on Keller’s brain-break philosophy, reminding her students, “If my bum is numb, my brain is dumb.” Her lively, supportive atmosphere keeps students feeling valued, motivated, and ready to learn.
Bianca’s dedication and passion make her a true EduHero. Her story shows that teaching is about more than imparting knowledge—it’s about celebrating progress and nurturing potential, making every child feel like a superstar. Here’s to Bianca van Biljon, the EduHero who turns learning into a celebration!
